Sardine Bhorta

Slice Onions and Green Chili

Canned Sardines

My mother used to make bhorta’s out of pretty much anything while I was growing up in New England.  This was especially the case during the winter months, and I’m not quite sure why, but perhaps she did it to warm her soul or it was just something quick, and easy to make.  Anyway, the Sardine Bhorta was a favorite and a weekly staple in our family similar to how the Aloo Bhorta is to other Bengali familes.
